Musical Ride Display Team

The Musical Ride Display Team can be booked for shows and events, and plays an integral part in raising funds for the Horse Rangers Association. The team is led by Captain Theresa Barrett and comprises of eight riders on horses that are used regularly for the daily activities at Horse Rangers. The ride shows the smooth, graceful movements that can be achieved on horseback with patience and hard work. This takes great skill and teamwork. The following evolutions and figures included are: circles, turns, scissors, lady chain, maze, catherine wheels and a chevron formation and salute.

The arena is marked out by the ground staff who carry guidons. They are an essential part of the ride and are all capable of performing as a rider. The music, which is arranged to synchronise with the differing paces of the horse, is chosen by the team.

The team is coached and choreographed by Alistair Blamire, who is a trainer for the Metropolitan Police’s mounted division.

The team have performed at numerous events including Lambeth Show, various county shows and they took part in ‘All the Queens Horses’ which was part of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
